In a recent Barron's article, SentimenTrader's senior analyst, Jay Kaeppel highlighted a historically weak seasonal window for corn prices.

According to Jay Kaeppel, a senior research analyst at SentimenTrader, the typically weak period for corn stretches from the 115th trading day of the year through the 155th day. This year, that period begins on Tuesday and runs through Aug. 14.

"Traders who insist on playing the long side of corn might seriously consider a trailing stop," Kaeppel wrote, referring to a type of order to sell. "On the other hand, aggressive futures traders should be looking for an opportunity to trade the short side of corn."
