This piece - titled 'July Week 5 Meets the Stock Market (and Treats it Badly)' - published on 7/23/2021, inadvertently referenced the wrong week for actual trading purposes. Please note:

  • All of the data and performance #'s ARE CORRECT
  • However, the data and performance #'s are all for THE WEEK AFTER the 5th week of July (i.e., the week ending on the 1st Friday in August ONLY during those years when there is a 5th Friday in July), and NOT Week 5 of July itself.

So, in 2021 the week in question is the week ending 8/6/2021 and NOT the week ending 7/30/2021.

The charts and text in the linked article have been updated to reflect this correction.
