The Seasonal Window Opens After an Early Surge
Sugar's rally has some fundamental support. India has authorized 1 million tonnes of duty-free raw-sugar imports after nearly a decade. In Brazil, sugar output through August 1 was about 12% lower than a year earlier and January-July exports were about 7% lower; Conab also expects full-season sugar output to fall 2.9% even as the cane crop expands, as mills direct more cane toward ethanol. Several private forecasters now project a global deficit for 2026/27.
Looking at the seasonal pattern, a favorable stretch of the calendar still lies ahead.
