Record bets against stocks by small options traders
The smallest of options traders increased their bearish bets against stocks last week. The premiums they paid for protection, compared to their speculative bets on a rally, exceeded even the March 2020 panic. As a percentage of stock market capitalization, their bearish bets just hit a 22-year record.
