It's Soon or Never for Regional Banks
The regional banking sector is entering a favorable seasonal period, as shown in the Annual Seasonal Trend chart below. This period extends from Trading Day of Year (TDY) #211 through #236. For 2025, this period runs from the close on November 4th through the close on December 10th.

The chart below displays the hypothetical growth of $1 invested in the State Street SPDR S&P Regional Banking ETF (KRE) only during this period, every year since KRE started trading in 2006.

One caveat is the fact that KRE is not presently in an established uptrend. Aggressive short-term traders may consider jumping in on the long side in hope of seasonal follow through to the upside. Others may want to wait for some price action confirmation, such as a move back above the 70-day EMA.

This is an idea for aggressive short-term traders and not a long-term investment recommendation. For any long position, a stop-loss order placed somewhere below the recent low of $57.55 makes sense.
