High Correlation Among Assets

Over the past couple of months, the correlation between assets domestic and overseas has spiked. The S&P 500 has had a 50-day rolling correlation above 0.8 (on a scale from -1.0 to +1.0) to 10-year Treasury yields, commodities, and world stocks. As noted by the Wall Street Journal, spikes in correlations have usually come at longer-term inflection points.
