Gold's flash crash
Gold futures prices suffered a flash crash overnight as someone dumped a bunch of contracts during a quiet period. These liquidation events have triggered several times in the past few days as gold melted.

At least this one triggered some buying interest, and prices rebounded strongly. If it continues, it will put in a key reversal bar.

There's not much precedent for this, in terms of the magnitude of the decline and reversal while being so close to a 52-week low.

Three out of four prior incidents marked a major low for gold, while the 1984 signal saw another bout of selling in the months ahead before a sustained rally.
