Even the bears are long
According to the latest survey of active investment managers from NAAIM, even the most bearish manager is more than 10% net long stocks. Of the 741 weeks in the survey's history, only 37 of them saw the most bearish manager at least 10% net long. The S&P 500's annualized return following those weeks was only 1.3%, versus 8.3% after all other weeks. It tended to be only a short-term headwind.
