This week, we saw that the S&P 500 has held above its long-term average for nearly a year, amid a historic streak without back-to-back losing sessions. It may be a good time to consider the equal-weight S&P index. The run in gold has been even more impressive, but gold mining stocks have rarely been able to hold up after so many of them have performed this well.
