A thrust enough to end most bear markets
We've been looking for buyers eager enough to push most stocks higher together, with enough firepower behind them to be convincing. There have been a couple of attempts this year, all of which failed. Maybe this latest one will be enough. For two out of the past three sessions, more than 87% of volume on the NYSE flowed into advancing securities, coming on the heels of a 52-week low in the S&P 500. We have more confidence in this data starting in 1962. Since then, the S&P showed double-digit gains over the next year every time.
